The Happening connector

Last updated 1 August 2026.

Happening is a database of real-world events in Milwaukee. The connector puts that database inside your assistant, so you can ask for what you're in the mood for: "live jazz this weekend", "something to do with the kids on Saturday". You get real listings back, with times, venues and prices. Find an event that isn't listed, and it can be posted for everyone else to find.

In Claude

Add it from the Claude connector directory. Nothing to configure.

In ChatGPT and elsewhere

Add a custom connector with this URL:

https://api.happening-events.com/mcp

Signing in

Either way you'll be sent here to sign in and approve the connection. It takes an email address; we send you a link, there's no password to make up. Searches are rate limited per person and posted events are credited to whoever submitted them, hence the account.

That email has a code in it as well as a link. If you open it anywhere other than the browser waiting to approve the connection, type the code into that browser rather than clicking the link. Clicking it signs you in on the wrong device, and the connection won't finish.

What it can do

Five tools. Four only read; the last one writes, so you'll be asked first.

Limits and fair use

Searches are rate limited per account. Don't work around the limits, pull the catalog in bulk, or resell the data. See the terms. Listings come from organizers and other people, so they can be wrong or out of date; check with the organizer before you make the trip.

Your data

The connector sees the events you search for and the events you post, and nothing else in your conversation. It never reads your files, your other chats, or anything remembered about you. The privacy page covers what's kept and for how long.
