The Happening connector

Happening is a database of real-world events in Milwaukee. The connector puts that database inside Claude, so you can ask for what you're in the mood for. Say "live jazz this weekend", "tech events next week", or "something to do with the kids on Saturday", and you get real listings back, with times, venues and prices.
It also works the other way. If you come across an event that isn't listed, Claude can post it, and everyone else searching Happening will find it too.
Connecting
In Claude, add a custom connector with this URL:

You'll be sent here to sign in and approve the connection. Signing in takes an email address. We send you a link, there's no password to make up. You need an account because searches are rate limited per person and posted events are credited to whoever submitted them.
That email has a code in it as well as a link. If you open it on your phone, or anywhere other than the browser that's waiting to approve the connection, type the code into that browser rather than clicking the link. Clicking it signs you in on the wrong device, and the connection won't finish.
What Claude can do
Five tools. The first four only read; the last one writes, so Claude will ask you before it posts anything.
Search events
Finds events by a natural-language description plus an optional date range and tags. It's a semantic search, so "somewhere loud on a Friday" works as well as naming a genre. Results come back best-match first, and each one carries what it is, when, where, what it costs, and a link.
Get event details
Fetches one event in full: the whole description, images, venue, prices.
List event tags
Lists the categories events are filed under, for filtering a search.
List my event submissions
Shows the events you've posted and how each one went, whether accepted, still pending, or declined with the reasons why.
Post an event to Happening
Adds an event to the database. It's checked for quality, then matched against what's already listed. If the event is already there, the two are merged rather than duplicated, so posting something that might exist is safe. This usually takes a few seconds, after which the event is searchable by everyone. Posting with the id of an event you submitted before updates that listing, so this is the one tool that can change something already published.
Limits and fair use
Searches are rate limited per account. Don't work around the limits, don't pull the catalog in bulk, and don't resell the data. See the terms. Listings come from organizers and from other people, so they can be wrong or out of date; check with the organizer before you make the trip.
Your data
The connector can see the events you search for and the events you post, and nothing else in your conversation. It never reads your files, your other chats, or anything Claude remembers about you. The privacy page covers what's kept and for how long.
